Great day to ride The QUEEN ,Godfather, our 2 guests and yours truly PROFESSOR .
We ran back roads to Oak Island by way of Galloway and Cherry Bomb and with a veteran group. We had a ball, food was great, and my good friend MR Dave at 87 years young hung out with Road DOG. After saying our good byes at the Oak Island restaurant we took 133 back. Godfather and the 2 guest split off at 140 and the QUEEN and I stayed 17 to Wilmington. Stay tuned! Hope to see the guests a lot more and they're "Youngbloods" -18 and 20 years old - nice, well-mannered couple. Thanks for stopping by Paul D! t Till next time Cruisers. Hope it's sooner than later. 93 miles of smiles THE PROFESSOR N.C.SCRC ASST STATE OFFICER What a great weekend that began on Thursday as I planned the route to Savannah for no highways. A smell the flowers kind of ride what a great bunch of back roads I found .
For lunch we found ourselves in Salter's S.C. for lunch at Coppers county store been there since 1939 still doing it the same way. BQ that is great food had ribs also. After lunch more back roads into Savannah. We checked in to the room and went to dinner. Friday we went downtown Savannah and did a history tour it's a beautiful city. Saturday i lead the only group ride of the Savannah invasion we took back roads to the Hunting island STATE Park in S.C. Nice place took some pictures and looked at the light house no one brave enough to climb it. We jumped on 95 to try and beat the rain we got wet . Thanks Spike for tailgunning and glad Sparky our National officer made the ride. Great fun and FACE TIME well cruisers till we meet again hope it's sooner than later. 820 miles of smiles even in the rain yes we got wet coming home straight up 95. THE PROFESSOR N.C.SCRC ASST STATE OFFICER The day dawned with low clouds, and a drizzle of dampness. (Not really rain). At the Circle K three cruisers gathered. At the appointed time we decided that 3 is enough for a group ride. We set off to the north, with the GPS in full revolt. Apparently the route started at the Circle K, the old Circle K, so the GPS spent 30 miles trying to get me back to the old location 100 feet to the south. We took our comfort stop in Magnolia. Then it was on to Little J's. They produced a tasty pizza for our dining pleasure. After the meal we topped up the gas tanks and headed for Buck's Corners and a bit of ice cream. We rolled back into Wilmington with a total of 190 miles. Preacher |
