stories from the road...
What a beautiful day to ride we took back roads threw Bruswick county. Had a comfort stop in supply and rolled into Sunset Harbor early . Shivers was making last minute plans on how to get me to do bike games. Food was great around 25 cruisers and friends enjoyed a great day with 22 bikes showing up a few from 033 myrtle beach chapter great to meet Todd and nice to see Darcey again 2nd Officer from myrtle beach. Bike games were awesome a few dropped bikes that's part of it you can't get better if you don't try. Thanks to Shivers for awesome day in his backyard also what a generous guy as people pitched in $105.00 dollars for the food but he gave it to me for St Jude. Thanks Shivers although he did not do his new dance. Till next time cruisers; is it Friday yet? Oh yeah, happy birthday TJ and thanks for sharing your special day with us.

Well it was a cold start as we rolled out Wednesday October 18 headed to Daytona first stop Florence SC to pick up 5 more riders. Smooth ride turned the heated gear up Mickey braved it out he dressed in layers. Rolled into Florence for a quick comfort stop where we have four chapters represented: 5-Points, Boone, Tar River, Port City (of course) and our State Officer . Had a few more stops then we rolled into destination Daytona Beach about 6pm not bad timing. We walked around a little ate some brisket and turned in early. Time flew Thursday as we walked around a lot at bikes. Friday to the track to Test RIDE all the new bikes! I really liked the Street Glide 117 cvo wow!! Pistol Pete had the same idea, he was dreaming of a new Indian. Saturday one member got a new bike. Sunday time to roll home. So much to do and time flies. Can't wait to dance again on 2wheels with these guys had a awesome time one for the memory books. Oh yeah I paid a 1064.65 for shades glad I check my receipt half a day to get bank to fix there mistake. Till next ride cruisers.
The Professor 1st Officer We had 12 bikes, 14 riders, and one chase vehicle complete with 90 lb dog for our ride to the Sorghum festival. The weather was perfect and some of us came out of our jackets at the comfort stop at Harrells (the bathroom at the Kangaroo was broke AGAIN!). We took some nice backroads and encountered a little road construction on the way to the festival. The parking lot was packed with participants and we had to park where we could find a spot. We got there in time to get a jar of syrup and there was plenty of food, such as ham biscuits, hot dogs, funnel cakes and mexican fare. There were lots of old cars and hit and miss engines. The only problem was the musicians took a 1 1/2 hour break about the time we arrived. We saw the 1st officer of the SCRC chapter near by (South River chapter?).
We departed for home via White Lake, where we stopped for gas and encountered more SCRC from the same chapter taking a break. I invited them to set up a lunch for us to come and meet them in the future. We said our goodbyes and headed back via 53 and 210. A total of 152 miles for the day. Thanks to TJ for tail gunning. Charles Lawhon Road Captain - Port City 162 Preacher lead the way as we rolled out the Roo with 7 bikes and Safety Cone covering the rear. Most everyone decided to hang out at Carolina Coast Harley Davidson to lend a hand with Hot Dog duty in true SCRC fashion. Travis was a bit busy to help out as he was selling 50-50 tickets !
TJ Bruno "Safety Cone" Tail Gunner/RCIT Great day to sell some dogs made a 150 dollars for the kids. Preacher thanks for the short ride before hot dog duty. Thanks to all the cruisers who came out to support the club great to see von Erica again and Derrick. Also a big thank you to the Goldsboro chapter who made the 3hr ride for the hot dog. Travis Spainhour "The Professor" 1st Officer Great day to ride 12 bikes 13 people took back roads to barefoot landing. We decided to eat at the Stillhouse BBQ. After lunch we hit a few vendors, I had some patches sewed on. Then the skies turned dark checked the radar and got out of dodge made it back to Wilmington with a few drops on the windshield. Thanks for the lead Charles and Road queen covering the backend. Great day and back by 3 pm. 155 miles and even a few smiles.
