We headed out of Circle K a bit after 11am as the temp was warming to about 55 degrees. Over to MLK, across the bridge and straight down 74/76 headed towards Lake Waccamaw. We turned off on 214, but soon had to jump back on 74/76 due to 214 being closed from Bolton to Lake Waccamaw.
We detoured and got back to the open section of 214, Giles Byrd Rd to Hallsboro Rd. We meandered our way on some fine country roads over to 905 where we made a pitstop to warm up a bit and verify that Deb's CB and mine refused to get along today.
Back on the road, we followed 905 all the way into Sorry co. And dropped out onto SC9. Left turn and followed 9 through Longs over to the Little River/Cherry Grove area where we pulled in to Capt. Archie's ( old Capt. Poo's).Meeting us there was A.S.O. Professor, and we found a couple tables in the bar area (that was "zippered in" from the cold) and ordered drinks. Service and food was very good- 3 Cruisers ordered the fried Flounder which they said was excellent! The Pastrami Reuben was very good as well!
Back on the bikes, we headed onto 17 north toward Wilmington and made gas stop by Scott Britt's 17 Customs. We were taking some back roads into Wilmington so 2 Cruisers left us to get back to Wilmington a bit quicker. The remaining 5 rambled in Supply and veered off of 17 north on Old Ocean Hwy. We hit some nice curvy back roads that brought us out on River Rd in the Leland area. The crew took River Road into Leland and got back on 74/76 where we waved goodbye to Jr. and Ditch before crossing the bridge to end the ride.
Thanks to all that joined us to rack up 155 miles today! Thanks to Road Queen and Professor for tailgunning!
Til the Next Ride...
