We rolled out a little after 10 and headed toward Castle Hayne Rd and jumped on MLK to Isabella Holmes. Down thru Leland on 74 and picked up 17S for our ride in South Carolina. We rolled down thru Little River and headed over towards Cherry Grove to Capt. Archie's. Got held up by the Swing Bridge, but it was a welcome stop to soak up some of the sun that was trying to peek through the clouds.
There were about 7 bikes in the parking lot when we arrived around 11:30. We got the lay of the land and grabbed a table by the water. We watched the bikes start to file in and within 30 minutes the place was jammin'! The band started up and a steady succession of scooters filed in and out. Charles got there after peeling away from the group to do a beer delivery to a friend. We all ordered broiled flounder , fries , hush pups and cole slaw. Food and service were excellent!!
It was about 12:45 and we were ready to go, so we saddled up and headed over to 17 Customs. Charles is in the market.... stay tuned. We checked out the bikes and as always wanted to take a few home with us! We saw Scott Britt, said hey and then got ready to head north to our next stop- Beach House Harley.
Beach House had the live band playing and vendors lined up around the parking lot. "Factory Sale" inside. Yup ...$50 shirts marked down to $45. OOOOoooooo what a BARRGAIN!?!?! We petted the pups and browsed the vendors. Charles did his best Michael Jackson Beer Review for Makai Brewing Wheat Ale. Not THAT Michael Jackson! You would have to be a beer enthusiast to know who that is. Anyyyhoo, time to go.
We finished off the ride into Wilmington with David bugging out around NC 87 and Charles heading toward home on 421. Road Queen and I rolled into the house with 133 klicks for the day at 2:45p keeping true to my word.
Thanks for following me today!
