Took MLK and Isabella over the river and then headed to 17s. A small diversion on Cherry Bomb for some curves. Back to 17 and then a rest stop when we arrived in SC at the Gas Station on SC9/Hickman Rd.
Back on the bikes and off to Myrtle Beach via 31 and Robert Grissom Parkway. We cut over on 10th St to N. King's Hwy and made a left to arrive at Michael's Pizza/Piggly Wiggly . Due to not being able to eat on the premises, we lined up the scoots in the Piggly Wiggly parking lot and walked across the street to order our Take Out. The streets were dead... it was like winter-time action down here. Weird.
Now to why overcast and gloomy days are sometimes ok. As orders were ready, folks grabbed their lunch and walked back across the street to pull up some asphalt and eat lunch. We would have all roasted our butts off if it was 80 and sunny!!! Cool temps and limited sun allowed us to eat outside comfortably. haha!! We joked and talked about this crazy COVID 19 pandemic.
After disposing our trash in the Wiggly dumpster, everyone agreed that ice cream was in order for today, so we decided the next stop would be the Dairy Hut in Cherry Grove. We loaded up and pointed north for a mellow cruuuise into Cherry Grove . The streets were a little more active up here and folks were walking the streets with beach chairs and the parking lots were a little more full than last time. Beaches were open in Cherry Grove! Yeehaw!! The ice cream was awesome as expected. The guilt was not...
We got them cranked and lined up for the final approach into ILM. 17S up to the Exxon at 87 for final elbow bumps and goodbyes. Road Queen hugged people. We will report the test results when they return from the lab!!!
Great day for 175 klicks on the klock. Thanks to Travis for Tailgunning and thanks to everyone that came out today and followed me !
