Wow what an amazing day filled with sunshine, great riding, improved skills, good food and awesome friends who traveled a total of 124 miles! We rolled out of the Roo with 4 bikes/riders heading north on I40 to 53 then over to 258 up to our comfort stop at the Which Wich in Richlands. There were 3 additional cruisers and one guest who joined our rag tag crew bringing our total to 8 bikes/riders.
Following our meet & greet we headed over to the Stateside Elementary School in Jacksonville, NC where Greg & Tracey had the course all set up with chalk lines and safety cones marking the course along with handouts for attendees. Gerg reviewed the course layout and highlighted the various exercises and intended skills participants should use at each station. Great set-up and lots of work to prepare for this event to say the least. Participants ran through the various stations several times and improved their ability and skill level each time while maneuvering their iron horse.
We then decided to move this party to Twin Peaks Restaurant in J-Ville and silence our grumbling tummies. Lunch was great...Bob and I even tried their venison chili which was pretty darn good. We then headed over to New River Harley so I could get my last remaining patch that I needed for my new vest and ogled some of the new bikes on the floor. A few photo ops’s and hugs and away we rode toward Wilmington and putting another awesome day into the record books!
A very big THANK YOU to Gerg for all of his planning and tireless efforts to set up this great learning experience/event, to Travis for being Tail Gunner, to Tracey for the assist and to all who participated today. One of the very best days we have experienced in a long time and I for one thoroughly enjoyed the day and had a blast!
Till we ride again!
