Standard stuff ...out Holly Shelter, 210 and Shaw Hwy until turning on Old Maple Hill. I wasn't sure it was open with all the cars parked on the shoulder at the intersection, but it was. We took it slooowww due to potential flooding debris and wet, shadowy curves. No problem! We then took a left on 50 and cruised the remaining curvy 14 miles into Chinquapin and Buck's Corner Hot Dog/Ice Cream Shop.
Most grabbed some dogs and a drink and we hung around at the inside table and chitty chatted. The Professor came entirely too close to the ice cream not to get a double scoop of chocolate. Others chose gum or Hall's cough drops.
Someone said fudge and Professor suggested the antique/fudge shop in Burgaw, so we headed back on 50 to 53 into Burgaw. The shop was open and everyone looked over the antiques, ate cookies and got some fudge. All Cruisers agreed it was a big hit!
Back on the bikes for the final approach into Wilmington down 117. The Godfather dropped out of formation at 210, and Ditch bailed out at Gordon Rd. The remaining 5 Cruisers continued south until arriving at Road Queen's for a diet Coke and some dog treats.
107 miles on the day. Thanks to Professor for tailgunning and everyone else for coming out and following me!
'Til the Next Ride,
