We rolled out of the Circle K and headed south. The ride down River Rd. in Leland was interesting.... Preacher had a rear-end collision happen right beside him. He was passing a car that was turning left into Olde Town at the exact moment it was rear-ended. I hear "ACCIDENT" on the radio and my heart jumped. Then the details followed. I hope everyone was all right?
We continued our cruise down River Rd., turning on Daws, 87, and Danford Rd. into Bolivia. From there we hit 906 toward Oak Island and took 211 into SUpply for our rest stop.
After getting rid of some coffee and bullshitting, we saddled up and headed down Stone Chimney and followed the back roads thru Holden Beach, Ocean Isle and Calabash . Left on 17 thru Little River and ended up at Capt. Archie's after waiting for the bridge that swung.
Archie's is in the midst of renovations and this place is going to be a rockin' spot when they are done. They are completely renovating the inside bar area, kitchen, I think they are adding a deck on top(maybe?), expanding the outside bar and deck seating area. They added a stage. Come spring and summer this place is going to be jammin'! Our service and food was impeccable! It was lightning fast, prepared well and served with personality and courtesy!
Back on the bikes and over to 17 Customs. The lawn was FULL OF BIKES! This is a great shop!! Charles ended up leaving his Honda there for Scott to sell Scott is a good dude and it is always good to see him. Charles jumped on the back of Preacher's Trike and we headed north to the Daily Scoop for Ice Cream.
Daily Scoop got some business from 3 of 6. It was tempting but, rePete, Mintz, and Ditch resisted temptation and ...to tell the truth, it was a little cold for ice cream which aided in our decision. Ice Cream in January is for the heated gear crowd. We said our goodbyes in the parking lot before heading off to Wilmington.
Today's score: 142 miles. Great time! Thanks to Preacher for Tailgunning. Thanks for following me today!
