We headed out Holly Shelter and Shaw Hwy to Old Maple Hill. Very nice cruise through the curves that kept everyone in sight. No hot doggin' or heavy throttles today. Up to Buck's Corner, we took a break and chatted. It had been a couple weeks since most of the Cru was together, so we took advantage of a nice , mellow day to catch up with each other. No Hurries.
From Buck's we headed out some back road through Hog Country that lead us into Beulaville. Notable were Durwood Evans, Jackson Store and Hallsville Roads. Beautiful scenery on a beautiful day!
We got out on 24 in Beulaville and made a left to head the 11 miles into Kenansville. I turned a bit prematurely , but Chowsky knew the area and directed me into Kenansville the "back way." Nice Gravel Parking lot and a big ol' oak tree and we were all parked and ready to eat.
The Buffet was good! Interesting dining room.... but food was plentiful and everyone found items that they enjoyed. The fried chicken was a favorite!
Back on the scoots, we stopped briefly next door at the gas station and then retraced our tracks towards ILM with only minor differences to the route. Another run at Maple Hill and the long cruise down Shaw Hwy, 210 and Holly Shelter got us back into Castle Hayne for everyone to hug Road Queen. Oh... and Pat and Roger pulled off early to head home...
Total Mileage on the day was 165. Sorry for the extra mileage but we stayed within the predicted return time. Thanks to Scotty for tailgunning! Great job as usual.
Thanks for following me !
