Only 4 Cruiser's decided to participate in a cheezy, high carb ride to Snead's Ferry today. Not the best destination if you are getting ready for bikini weather...
We gather at the Circle K and after a quick pre-ride jumped in the saddle and took off. Right on Blue Clay, left on Dairy Farm and a right on Holly Shelter. Typical cruise up Holly Shelter and 210 to Shaw Hwy. Made a Ralph on Old Maple Hill and took a nice easy cruise thru the curves.
THe group then headed out 50, crossed over 17 and ran into a log jam!!! The new traffic patterns and traffic control signals didn't seem to be sequenced properly. Heavy beach traffic for this saturday morning. combined with 2 heavily traveled road narrowing down to one caused some wear and tear on the clutch.
After getting thru the two lights it was smooth sailing over the new skyway bridge over to TopSail. Business as usual along the beach road, across the northern high-rise bridge and to our destination of Denoia's Pizza.
It was a typical strip mall pizza joint, but the pizza was NOT typical! Giant NY-Style slices and great dough! I ordered a whole pie and other had slices baked to order! Very Good Pizza. We ended the meal by splitting 2 Canoli between the 4 of us and everyone really enjoyed it! I am no Canoli expert, but I thought they were very good!
Back on the bikes we retraced our tire tracks back over to Topsail and stopped at the Salty Turtle Brewing Co. Charles brought his Growler along to get filled up. They topped him off and we were back on the road.
On the ride home we swung past Road Queen's old house and then continued on 17 to 210 and Holly Shelter back to the Circle K on Murrayville Rd. Waved goodbye. Great Ride!
127 Clicks on the Clock today! Thanks to RoadQueen for Tailgunning!
'Til the Next Ride...
