The PC 162 decided on one final 2017 trip to one of our favorite restaurants - Giorgio's Pizza & Pasta - in Elizabethtown!.
Due to freezing temps overnight, the ride was posted for an 11am departure to allow things to warm up. 5 Cruisers gathered at the Shell Station on Gordon Rd. - Road Queen, Professor, Pistol Pete, rePete, and Paul Jr. As we got mounted up, it was already sunny and the temp had climbed over 50 degrees.
rePete led the group out 117 with Professor taking tailgunner responsibilities. We cruised thru Castle Hayne and made a left by Paul's Hot Dogs to follow 133/210. Continuing over 421 on 210, the group rolled over familiar ground down past Moores Creek and made a left on Canetuck Rd. Getting into single-file, we opened up the throttle a bit and enjoyed the curves before coming down to the intersection of 11. From there , we picked up 87 into E-Town.
Giorgio's was awesome as usual and we had our favorite server- Sylvia! 4 out of 5 got calzones , while Pistol enjoyed the baked ravioli and SAW-SEEDGE (sausage...). Everything was killer!
On the road back to Wilmy, we chose to follow our footsteps back out 87. Jr. needed gas in the peanut, so we chose to head thru Riegelwood and stop at the gas station on Mount Misery Rd. Jr. gassed up and we all said out goodbyes before lettin' r' rip up Mt. Misery. We got into Leland and Pistol peeled off as the rest of us heading toward Isabella Holmes bridge. After the bridge, Jr. and Deb headed north and rePete and Professor headed south to home.
All in all we ran 125 clicks , stayed warm, and had some dern good food! Happy New Year 162!
