Road Queen, ASO Professor , Roger, Pauly D, and Gwynn showed up at the Circle K for a 200 miler to the Fayetteville area . Grandson's was the destination, so we needed to build up a hunger first.
We rolled out of the K at 10am sharp- with temps above 50-and headed out of New Hanover Co. via 117. Left turn on 133, to 210, past Moore's Creek and onto 53 leading into White Lake. The sky was clear and blue and we had a great warm up cruise to our first pee break in White Lake.
From there we headed out 701 for a minute before turning onto Sweet Home Church Rd to hook up with 242. NICE quiet roads and the group was humming along and enjoying the warming temps and the NC country side. The crew got into single file to hit the curves a little harder when we hit Old Fayetteville Rd./Turnbull Rd.
Turnbull Rd. rejoined 53, and we cruised thru the Cedar Creek area before getting on 95 s. Get on that Throttle Son!!! We merged onto 95 smoothly and rode it out to the Hope Mills exit and our destination- GRANDSON'S. After the 2 hour ride, we were all ready to hit this buffet hard!
Ribs, wings, meatloaf, popcorn shrimp, mac n' cheez, fried chicken, ham, etc etc etc!!! Ice cream, red velvet cake, peanut butter chocolate cake, peach cobbler, blueberry cobbler, banana pudding, etc. etc. We sat around and griped about "kids today" and politics. We all agreed with each other , so we decided to stay together for the ride home ;)!
The PC 162 gassed up across the street from Grandson's and hit the road. The ride back to ILM followed our route out and was even better with Temps getting into the higher 60's. We skipped any rest stops on the way back and made good time back to 421 and Johnson's Corner. We chatted, looked at a pretty horse in the yard next door, and talked about the things that Cruiser's CAN and CANNOT do when attending a rally as a Southern Cruiser - i.e. the Code of Conduct . Roger had some good tales of folks that had difficulty following those expectations... haha!
We saddled up and brought it back into town on 421. Pauly D and Roger headed off on I 140 and I led Road Queen, Travis, Gwynn and Road Dawg back into ILM with 209.8 clicks on the clock.
Thanks to Professor for Tailgunning!
Thanks for following me today!
