We had a small but powerful contingent of Cruiser's brave the perfect temps and puffy- clouded sunshine to take in the high octane festivities today! Buc-Weet, Currb, John "the LandLord" Cain, JMintz, and TCone showed at the Shell on 421. We were all excited to see N.A.T. come rolling in, but he was not going with us- just stopping by to say Hello!
We pointed the scoots west and the trip to "The Rock" was pretty uneventful. Stopped at Sun-Do in Boardman at the 60 mile mark for a soda . Missed a turn in Laurel Hill that required the help of the satellites, but didn't cause us any grief as we just found some better country curves.
The Drag strip was AWESOME! We went in the back gate, paid our 20 beans and parked behind the grandstands of the drag strip by the concessions, terlets, and pits. We called our buddy Preacher who came over and joined the crew for lunch. French fries, burgers, sausage dogs all around with plenty of Gatorade as temps continued to climb into the 90's.
The drag races were so friggin' cool! We wondered around to all the grandstands to get a different view of the races, finally making our way back over to the Wilmington CMA tent. We came to find out the we could go right over next to the starting line and hang out to watch. Really? OHHHHHH YEEEEAH! Smokin' rubber and Ear Plugs baby!! WOW.
Our little gang was totally into it and we ended up hanging out until after 4pm watching the bikes launch. The big attraction was the Top Fuel. It is almost beyond words what it is like to be so close and watch these things take off... IT SHAKES YOUR ENTIRE BODY! BAM! EXPLOSION! JET WASH! 242 Miles Per HOUR!?~?~? Check the video:

We said our Goodbyes at the CMA tent and thanked them for the shade , water, candy, and company. Jumped on the bikes and rambled home. I know that I was inspired to twist the throttle a little more! Haha! Got back to Wilmingding around 6:30 as planned with 262 clicks on the day.
