Decent day for a ride. Weather was hanging around 59degrees , overcast, light drizzle in the northern areas. Today's line-up: Preacher, Roger, J.C., Don B(the original Road Dawg) and your leader - ME!
Today adventure started out heading north to Surf City and Top SULL Island. We took the well-worn route of N, College to Sidbury Rd. to Holly Shelter Rd. and came out in Hampstead. J.C. got a chill so we pulled over for another layer of leather.
Making a left, it was a straight shot up 17 to 50 and Surf City. Over the new bridge and continued thru Top Sail on 210. A slow cruise down the beach and over the north end bridge brought us to Minervini's NY Bagel.
The shop was bustling with activity and we scanned the menu and placed our orders. We found some seats along the window and waited for our orders to be delivered. Roger sat down with a couple Coast Guard officers, while Preacher and Don B. sat at the window bar. JC and I had a table come available , so we grabbed it. The food was great! Everything bagel with Scallion and Bacon "schmeer". plain bagels with cream cheese, almond muffin, and a turkey lettuce tomato was what I saw in our group. We chilled and talked. Everyone was happy until it started to drizzle...
Time to roll out, so we took Old Folkstone out to 17 and did a U-turn at the light. Heading south, we picked up 50 toward Old Maple Hill. The drizzle continued as we took a left on Old Maple Hill. I dialed it wayyyy back and we had a leisurely cruise down the curves to Shaw Hwy.
Next a right on 210 and onto 40. JC peeled off as did Roger and Road Dawg Don. Preacher and I continued to St. Matthews for the German Market. I was surprised that it was such a big event. We turned into the parking lot, but we told to head back out and park behind Taco Bell. Not knowing where to park, I took us to the farthest parking spot that I could find. IDK?? Preacher just calmly commented, "We could have parked back there." Sorry buddy... we get a little cardio before we eat Bratwurst.
We saw the Alan, Allen and Carole at the CMA booth. The market was buzzing and the Oomm Pah band was getting ready to play. We placed our orders at the food tent and waited in line. We both got Bratwurst with Kraut and German Potato salad and headed over to the tent to sit down and listen to the band. They were a hoot! See pics and video HERE*. We decided to call it a day and said our goodbyes to Alan and Carole at the CMA tent and headed back to the bikes.
Very nice ride and great food TWICE! 118 klicks today. Nice job watching the tail Preacher! Thanks for following me today Cruisers!
