We were blessed with a sunny 50 degree day to do some riding and meet with other Southern Cruisers at Western Sizzler in Dunn NC for the Annual New Year's Day gathering. Port City 162 had 17 bikes and 25 members and friends attend! We also got the opportunity to meet new member -Brent H. for the first time! Welcome aboard Brent!!
Not much to say about the trip up. It is a straight shot up 421 North. We had a rest stop on the way there . We were taking pictures , chatting and joking around throughout the day. We were the first to arrive in Dunn and got a great group pic taken before we headed in to get warmed up and eat. Thanks Alan!
There were approximately 70 bikes in the parking lot and roughly 100 people in the restaurant for our get together. We ate and socialized. Road Queen and Toby did the 50/50 raffle which raised $219 for St. Jude. Alan C. from the Port City 162 had the winning ticket! Great way to start the year!
State Officer- Travis Spainhour- addressed the crowd concerning events on the 2020 Cruiser calendar. He also recognized 20 year members with plaques, as well as others that are helping to coordinate events for the upcoming year.
When all was said and done, we got back on the bikes and headed across the road for gas. From there , it was back down 421 South to ILM. We stopped and said our goodbyes at Johnson's Corner. When we were ready to leave, Charles's bike would not start and we had to get a jump from Curbb who was in the SUV. All good! see ya Charles!
Thanks to all that came out today for 183 miles in the saddle. What a great crowd! Please join us more often. We ride every week! Thanks to Road Queen for tailgunning .
'Til the Next Ride,
