stories from the road...
Yet another another cold morning for a ride but the Weather Man said it would heat up by midday and he was right. It turned into a beautiful day for a ride. 3 Cruisers met up at the Gordon Rd Shell Station. After a quick safety brief, we were rolling to the roads of Brunswick County. We took Village to Mt Misery and then HWY 87 back to our Comfort stop. The 3 man band continued down Hwy 87 to HWY 17 South. I was not sure of the turn off 17 through Bolivia but both Mike and Travis pointed me in the right direction. We pulled in at the Restaurant to find Brian "Shivers" Dunlop waiting on us. The food was really good and we all were treated to a free Dessert : Apple Pie A La Mode. It seems that the Oak Island Restaurant will be closing to for the Holidays soon. After Lunch, we headed back to Wilmington with Shivers along but he dropped off in Southport. It was nice to have him along, even if it was for just a few miles. We decided to pay a surprise visit to Phyllis as our route skirted her neighborhood. In normal fashion, she greeted us with that great big smile and invited us inside for our visit. We said our good byes and headed home.
