Our ride for Sat. Aug 16th took us to the lovely town of Morehead City and the Ruddy Duck Tavern.
The ride was led by Road Capt. Steve Rhodes and we had 12 bikes and 16 riders at the Roo when kickstands went up at 10am. Steve was kind enough to include Old Maple Hill on his route which is always a favorite for the Port City Cruisers! From there we continued on 53 Toward Jacksonville and hit route 24 and then 70 to arrive at the Ruddy Duck.
The food was great -the service good- and the company was entertaining as always. With a strong potential for running into a thunderstorm, the group soldiered on back towards Wilmington by retracing our steps on 70 and 24. After a brief comfort/gas stop we got on to 17 South with only a brief shower to contend with.
A pitstop at Jebby's (as usual!) was in order to discuss our day's adventure and celebrate a safe and fun ride. The club called it a great day with over 200 miles under our belts!
Thanks for a great ride Steve!
