stories from the road...
The day started chilly as most days recently but we had 5 bikes and 6 riders at the Shell for the Pre-Ride Briefing. We rolled up I40 to I140 to HWY 17 south to our 1st comfort stop @ the Circle K in Supply. As we were a few minutes ahead, we extended our stay. There was a discussion about changing our destination to Shorty's Grill instead of the American Sub Shop. The only decision we could come up was to split up the group for lunch. We saddled up and headed down HWY 17 to HWY 130 and then down several back roads. Destiny must of stepped in when we reach Loris SC because I rolled right by the American Sub shop and brought the group to Shorty's Grill. The group decided to stay together and food was good. Since there is an Ice Cream Shop right next to the Grill, Preacher and Travis just had to have some sweet dessert! The sun came out and the temp shot up which turned the day into one wonderful day for a ride. We left Loris and down some more back roads to our last comfort stop. We all decided that the back roads I found were little more than goat paths (Rough with a lot of Pot Holes). I am not looking forward to riding them anytime soon. When you are looking for good roads to ride, some days you just strike out. Sorry Guys ! The group jumped on HWY 74 east and before we went our separate ways, we stopped in to see a Cruiser that we had not seen in a bit, Mike "DaBoy" McGlauflin. He seemed happy to see the group even though we only hung out for a few minutes. We said our goodbyes and we each headed home. I had a great ride and I hope everyone who came along did as well.
