5 Cruisers gathered for a trip to Swing Bridge Pizza. Myself, John Cain, Jerry Landis Mintz Sr, Jerry Lipka, and Mike "Rango" Ditch. We did a brief pre-ride and headed out MLK to 74/76. Left into Lake Waccamaw and then hit the backroads of Columbus County that would lead us into South Carolina. The group got to see about 30-40 Corvettes of all vintages pass us as we waited at an intersection. At the rest stop (HR Mart) we took our time, sat in the shade and hydrated. No hurries and enjoyed some good conversation. Temps were rising.
We arrived at Swing Bridge and they had our table ready (no one was sitting there yet...). Everyone wanted pizza, so we ordered a couple of pies and split them. The service and the food was very good. Checks were split evenly and we were able to cash out with our waitress at the table with her portable Point Of Sale handheld. Convenient!
Off to 17 Customs. We stopped in, talked to the salesman, looked at bikes and said "Hey" to Scott Britt. Next stop was a gas-up and then head North to Beach House Harley.
We got up to Beach House and there were some vendors and lotsa riders gathered and milling about. Our MAIN Goal for this Stop? ICE CREAM!!!!!! Well... not really, cuz Preacher was buying a cup holder for the TriGlide, but.... This Ice Cream vendor travels to all the rallies and they churn the ice cream on the spot with an old John Deere motor. It was worth every penny! After doing a once-thru the shop and chatting with the vendors we said our Goodbyes, saddled up and pointed the bikes and trikes toward Wilmington. Riders started to split off in the Leland area.
We got 151 clicks on the clock today! Great time! Thanks to Preacher for Tailgunning and John Cain for handling the serving duties with the pizza!!
'Til the Next Ride...
