9 Bikes and 12 riders gathered at the Shell on this gorgeous Spring day!
After a quick Pre-Ride, we headed out Gordon Rd., to N. Kerr, to MLK towards 74/76. We got down to the Lake Waccamaw area and hung a Louie on 214 . From there we aimed the front forks at some great backcountry roads that eventually dropped us down onto SC 9.
Picking up SC 31, we cranked up the volume a little and hit 544 to 17s to our destination of Murrells Inlet and the Whiskey Fish Tavern.
The Whiskey Fish was a cool spot for sure! Literally...under a giant oak that shaded the outside bar area and front porch. Why haven't I ever seen this place- directly across from Suck Bang Blow?? They had our table ready inside and we settled in and ordered drinks. The one bartender/waitress took care of us. Food took a bit, but she got all the orders correct and the food was very good!
We headed over to Coastal Victory/Indian dealership to look around and so I could pick up some "stuff." Unfortunately, we were running late so Mickey and Linnea had to start to head back without us. Sorry Guys!! After purchasing some oil, parts for the Vision, and some Indian sunglasses for Erika , we started our trek back north.
We took SC707 back -which we avoided on the way down due to construction- and it was not bad at all. From there the gang took 31, 9, Hickman Rd. and 17 north to get us back up to the Exxon at 17/87 for final goodbyes. Deb hugged everyone....even ME! (See Photos! CLICK HERE)
All said, 225.1 miles for the day. Whew! Thanks to TJ and RoadQueen for tailgunning duties! Glad I was hydrated and wore my sunscreen!
Til' the next Cruise,
